Lanzarote is the most eastern island of the Canarian archipelago and arguably the most beautiful. It is a relatively small island, the surface area being approximately 850 kilometres. However what it lacks in size it makes up in diversity from the long white sand beaches of the costal regions to the volcanic landscapes of Timanfaya National Park. Controlled development and the absence of the dreaded “high rise” have helped to preserve both the natural habitat and the stunning sea and mountain views.

 

The sun shines throughout the year and the average temperature is 21 degrees in winter and 29 degrees in summer, a perfect year –round destination for sun seekers.  In addition constant though moderate winds make the island ideal for yachting, windsurfing and kite surfing. 

 

Glorious sunsets, volcanic mountains interspersed with green palm strewn valleys, white painted traditional villages, the amazing architectural heritage of the international artist Cesar Manrique and last but not least the friendliness of the local populace combine to make this island a haven of tranquillity in a troubled world.
